Air New Zealand appoints digital chief
Air New Zealand (Air NZ) has appointed former Google executive, Avi Golan, to the new role of chief digital officer, effective from mid-January. Read More » Golan has held senior leadership positions in a range of companies, including Google, Barnes and Noble, Olive Software and Intuit, where he is currently working. In an announcement to staff, Air NZ CEO, Christopher Luxon, said Golan was going to play a critical role within the airline to enhance the new revenue opportunities that digital brings and also to minimise online security risks and drive customer innovation.
Hong Kong Airlines announces two senior appointments
Hong Kong Airlines has appointed two new “veterans”. Chan Kwok Wing is the new director of its corporate safety, quality assurance and security department and Christopher Birt has taken up the role of general manager inflight services in the carrier’s service delivery department. Birt will be responsible for managing service and performance standards of the airline’s cabin crew.
Chan has spent 27 years in international aviation corporations, specializing in safety and quality assurance. Before joining Hong Kong Airlines, he was head of corporate safety and quality at Dragonair. Birt has almost 20 years of experience in aviation and has broad expertise in front-line operations, including his latest position as head of cabin crew at Thomson Airways.
Amadeus appoints Asia IT boss
Amadeus has amplified its approach to the expanding corporate IT segment with the appointment of Frederic Saunier, its previous sales director for Amadeus in France, as Asia-Pacific head of corporate IT, reporting to Florian Tinnus, Amadeus’ global corporate IT boss.
