Japan Airlines (JAL) and Malaysia Airlines are adding more codeshare routes to their joint-business partnership ahead of the Kuala Lumpur-based carrier’s new nonstop flight to Fukuoka. Read More » As part of the expanded partnership, JAL will add its JL airline code on Malaysia Airlines’ five times weekly Kuala Lumpur-Fukuoka nonstop service due to take off from September 2 with 737 MAX 8 aircraft. Similarly, Malaysia Airlines will add its MH airline code on JAL’s domestic services from Fukuoka. "This will significantly enhance flight connectivity across Japan for inbound travellers and strengthen Fukuoka’s position as an international gateway," JAL said. "JAL is leveraging its resources and partnerships with other airlines to the fullest extent to support the Japanese government’s goal of welcoming 60 million international visitors by 2030, and to help revitalise local economies by bringing international travellers directly to regional Japan."
