JIN Air to add Airbus type to fleet as part of lease of 14 aircraft from KAL and Asiana

South Korea-headquartered LCC, Jin Air, will add 11 Airbus A320neo family aircraft and three 737NG aircraft to its fleet. Read More » The aircraft will start joining the fleet under lease from September this year. Of the 14 aircraft, 13 are from parent Korean Air (KAL), with one from Asiana Airlines. KAL and Asiana Airlines will shortly complete the merger of the two companies into one airline group. The lease terms for the aircraft run through to the 2033 to 2035 time period. The A320neo family represents a new type for Jin Air, which currently operates an all-Boeing fleet of 737 family and 777-200ER aircraft. Media reports said the introduction of Airbus aircraft at Jin Air, which is a KAL subsidiary, was expected to support its integration with Asiana Airlines LCCs Air Busan and Air Seoul.
