On September 4, 2026, Air China will launch fifth-freedom flights to Zagreb, operated three times per week via the Beijing Capital-Bucharest-Zagreb route. Read More » The launch of the new service was announced during the event at the Romanian Embassy in China, themed “Connecting the Silk Road to Europe.” The Mainland media noticed that Air China will operate a total of four fifth-freedom routes in Europe by the second half of this year: Madrid-São Paulo, Madrid-Havana, Bucharest-Zagreb, and Copenhagen-Reykjavik. Currently, the Star Alliance carrier serves 27 destinations in Europe and operates nearly 260 China-Europe flights per week.
