Vietnam Airlines and Vietravel Airlines signal intention to order Airbus aircraft

Vietnam Airlines has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Airbus for five A350-900s. Read More » The aircraft were scheduled to be delivered in the 2033 to 2034 timeframe. "For medium- and long-haul international routes, product quality, operational efficiency, and fleet reliability are critical to our success," Vietnam Airlines CEO, Le Hong Ha, said. "The MoU with Airbus provides a solid foundation for the two sides to continue evaluating suitable cooperation options and will help Vietnam Airlines strengthen its readiness for growth and competition in the years ahead." The MoU was announced during a state visit to France by Vietnam president, To Lam.
It was also announced during the state visit Vietravel Airlines had signed a letter of intent (LOI) with Airbus for 30 A321 and 20 A220 aircraft, with deliveries due to commence in 2029.
