AIRLINES: Hawaiian Airlines parent, Hawaiian Holdings, reported a 2015 net income of $182.6 million, more than double the net profit of $68.9 million in 2014. Read More » Singapore budget carrier, Tigerair, reported a third-quarter net profit of S$6.8 million ($4.75 million), compared with the S$2.2 million it posted in the corresponding year-ago period. VietJet Air announced 2015 revenues of 10.9 trillion dong ($490.7 million), up 34.5% from 8.1 trillion in 2014, although the numbers were lower than the 13.8 trillion forecast at the start of 2015. The LLC added eleven A320 Family jets to its fleet during the year and increased passenger numbers by 66%, to 9.3 million passengers, during the 12 months. Average load factor was 88%.

MANUFACTURERS: Airbus is assembling the main airframe sections of China Airlines’ first A350 at the final assembly line in Toulouse and expects a third quarter delivery to the Taiwanese flag carrier.

ROUTES: Emirates Airline will add a fifth daily Dubai-Colombo B777-300ER rotation starting August 1. EVA Air will increase frequency on the Taipei-Houston route from four- to six-weekly starting March27, with plans to go daily from October 10, and it will increase service to JFK from daily to ten-weekly beginning July 7. Hainan Airlines will launch a thrice-weekly Beijing-Calgary B787-8 service from June 30. Jetstar Japan will add service to the Philippines in March and April as it launches A320 flights from Narita (March 15), Kansai (April 1) and Nagoya (April 7). Jin Air will resume daily Incheon-Taipei B737-800 flights commencing March 24. Korean Air will replace the B777-300ER with the B747-8 on its four-weekly Incheon-Prague service from July 1. Philippine Airlines will launch a twice-weekly Manila-Saipan A320 rotation from June 15. Qatar Airways will increase frequency on the Doha-Larnaca A320 route from daily to ten-weekly beginning March 16. Thai Airways International (THAI) will add a fifth weekly Bangkok-Auckland B777-200ER service from March 4. Thai Lion Air will launch four-weekly Don Mueang-Jinan and thrice-weekly Don Mueang-Taiyuan B737 services from January 25 and January 26, respectively. Taiwanese LCC V Air will launch a thrice-weekly Taipei-Haneda and four-weekly Taipei-Ibaraki service from March 11 and March 15, respectively, using an A320. United Airlines (UA) will launch daily direct San Francisco- Singapore flights on June 1, using a B787-900 aircraft. Previously, the routing required a transit stop at Tokyo/Narita.
