MANUFACTURERS: Bombardier has started route-proving flights with its CSeries CS100 regional jet in Europe as the aircraft nears service entry with Swiss International Air Lines in the second quarter. Meanwhile, the larger CS300 variant for launch operator airBaltic is on the final assembly line at Bombardier Commercial Aircraft’s Mirabel plant.
ROUTES: AirAsia will increase frequency on the Kuala Lumpur-Colombo A320 route from daily to ten-weekly starting March 18. AirAsia X will up frequency on both the Kuala Lumpur-Beijing, and the Kuala Lumpur-Pudong A330-300 routes from daily to eleven-weekly from July 1, respectively. Air Mauritius will launch a weekly Mauritius-Maputo-Durban A319 service from May 4, and a weekly Mauritius-Dar es Salaam-Nairobi A319 service following May 6. Austrian Airlines will launch a five-weekly Vienna-Hong Kong B777-200ER route on September 5. Bangkok Airways will add a sixth weekly frequency on the Bangkok-Nay Pyi Taw ATR72 service from March 27. Cambodia Angkor Air will start a five-weekly Sihanoukville-Ho Chi Minh ATR72 route beginning June 17, and a thrice-weekly Siem Reap-Da Nang ATR72 route commencing July 1. China Eastern Airlines will start a four-weekly Pudong-Amsterdam A330-200 rotation from June 26. Jetstar Australia will terminate its 2-3 weekly Brisbane-Honolulu B787 service from October 29. Malindo Air will increase frequency on the Kuala Lumpur-Perth B737-800 route from eleven- to twelve-weekly beginning April 2. Royal Jordanian has terminated its twice-weekly Amman-Kiev A320 service.
