The Toulouse-based manufacturer delivered 57 commercial aircraft to 34 airlines and five lessors last month, while Chicago-headquartered Boeing delivered 69 commercial aircraft to 28 carriers, eight lessors and an undisclosed customer during the month.
Airbus booked firm orders for nine commercial aircraft in March, worth approximately $1.6 billion at current book prices, including seven A320neos from CSA Czech Airlines and two A380s from Emirates Airline.
Boeing received orders for 67 commercial jets in March, worth approximately $8.5 billion at current list prices, from FedEx, Pegasus Airlines, Eastern Air Lines and United Airlines, as well as five undisclosed customers.
Separately, Boeing got a boost last week after it posted a new order for four B747-8s from an undisclosed customer on its website, valued at approximately $1.5 billion at current list prices. Boeing had 23 unfulfilled B747 orders as of March, although the tally includes two frames already built for now-defunct Transaero Airlines. The manufacturer has recently reduced B747 production to .5 a year.
Regional aircraft manufacturer Embraer on Thursday announced it has delivered 21 jets to the commercial aviation sector and 23 to the business segment during the first quarter, up 37.5% year-on-year. Embraer’s firm order backlog stood at 492 aircraft as of March 31, including 267 of its new E2 variants.
