Report: Boeing has reduced internal sales forecast

Chicago-headquartered manufacturer Boeing aims to sell 535 aircraft this year, well below its official forecast of 740-745 aircraft, Aviation Week reported on Monday, citing an internal company forecast. Read More »

Specifically, the report suggested Boeing plans to sell 14 B747s, 88 B787s, 88 B777s, 21 B767s and 324 B737s. For reference, the OEM has sold 23 Dreamliners and twelve “Triple 7s” to date this year.

"We have a host of internal forecasts," Boeing spokesman Doug Alder said. "As a general rule, we do not comment on internal numbers." Aircraft sales have slowed this year amid a slowdown in the world economy, particularly in China. Several airlines have said they are looking to defer Airbus and Boeing orders.
