Pakistan International Airlines swapping five -300ERs for eight B787s

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is set to convert an existing order for five B777-300ERs to eight B787s (variant unspecified), the BBC has reported, quoting PIA chairman, Azam Saigol. Read More »
The PIA boss said the smaller Dreamliner would be a better fit for the carrier’s operations, including planned nonstop services from Pakistan to New York (now routed via the UK).
PIA has a long-haul fleet of six B777-200ERs, two B777-200LRs, three B777-300ERs and a A330-300 (wet-leased from SriLankan Airlines with two more due in October and December, respectively). The chairman said the B787 would be delivered starting next June.
