MRO: Mumbai’s GoAir has extended its component support contract with Lufthansa Technik through to 2026, covering its fleet of 19 A320ceos and 144 on-orders A320neos.

OEMs: Boeing this week announced $6 million in grants to more than 50 non-profit organizations and education institutions across Washington. Embraer has extended its flight hour pool programme with Japan Airlines regional subsidiary J-Air for up to ten years covering the carrier’s fleet of 20 E-Jet aircraft

Routes: AirAsia X will launch a four-weekly Kuala Lumpur-Chongqing A330-300 service on September 27, replacing a daily AirAsia A320 flight. China Eastern Airlines will add a nonstop Beijing-Nagoya A321 service from October 30. Eastar Jet will increase frequency on the Incheon-Fukuoka B737-800 route from daily to ten-weekly beginning November 1. Ethiopian Airlines will resume operations to Singapore from June 1 with a daily Addis Ababa-Singapore B787-8 flight. Hong Kong Airlines will launch a daily Hong Kong-Auckland A330-200 route on November 10, but will operate the route ten times a week from December 10 through to February 12. Jin Air will launch a twice-weekly Incheon-Cairns B777-200ER route on December 14. Okay Airways will resume twice-weekly Tianjin-Osaka, and four-weekly Tianjin-Haneda, B737-800 flights from September 26. SriLankan Airlines will reduce frequency on the Colombo-Guangzhou A330-300 route from daily to four-weekly from October 30. THAI Smile will launch daily Suvarnabhumi-Phnom Penh A320 operations commencing October 1. TransAsia Airways will terminate its bi-weekly Taipei-Palau A320 charters from September 25, and it will take over V Air’s five-weekly Taipei-Chiang Mai A320 route starting October 7. Turkish Airlines will reduce frequency on the Istanbul-Karachi B737-800 route from double daily to daily from October 30. VietJet Air will launch a five-weekly Ho Chi Minh-Tainan A320 flight starting October 30.
