Air Canada targets Asia-Pacific growth

Star Alliance member, Air Canada, continues to aggressively target the Asia-Pacific. This week the Canadian flag carrier announced the launch of several routes to the region next year. Read More » The Montreal-headquartered carrier will add a daily Montreal-Shanghai B787-8 route from February 17, the first direct link between the city pair and Montreal’s first international Dreamliner service, and Air Canada’s longest flight at 14.5 hours.
From June 8, the airline will launch a daily Vancouver-Taipei B787-9 service, going head-to-head with Star Alliance fellow member, EVA Airways, on the route.
Air Canada has added a four-weekly Delhi-Toronto direct link earlier this year and in October will launch seasonal Vancouver-Delhi flights three times a week. From July 1, it will commence Toronto-Mumbai three times a week flights. All India services will be flown by B787-9s. Air Canada’s budget affiliate, Air Canada Rouge, will launch a thrice-weekly Vancouver-Nagoya B767-300ER rotation effective June 1.
