December 9th 2016

Hawaiian said the new commitments will enable it to retire its B767-300ER fleet earlier, by the end of 2018, “while supporting measured sustainable growth of its unique medium and long-haul missions”.
“The addition of these three aircraft provide for low- to mid-single-digit capacity growth over the remainder of the decade,” said Hawaiian EVP and CCO, Peter Ingram. “At the same time, the accelerated retirement of the B767s will simplify our operation and allow us to be more efficient.”
Hawaiian previously announced it would add 16 A321neos to its fleet from 2017. The new Letters of Intent with two lessors will raise its A321neo fleet to 18 by 2020. The airline has 23 A330-200s, 20 B717s and three ATR42s. Hawaiian CEO, Mark Dunkerley, intends to expand in China from its single route to Beijing.
