Emirates clocks up 25 years of profits

Dubai-based Emirates Airline announced a profit of US$622 million for the 12 months to March 31, its 25th successive year of profit. Emirates reported revenue of US$19.9 billion, an increase of 17% over the previous year, with passenger seat load factor stable at 80%.
The carrier has 198 aircraft on order, valued at US$71 billion, and will launch services to Haneda Tokyo, the Philippines’ Clark airport, Stockholm and Milan-New York. Total destinations for its A380 fleet, in the current year, will increase to 21 with additional services to Amsterdam, Melbourne, Singapore and Moscow.
All five daily flights from Dubai to London Heathrow will be serviced by the A380 this year.
