MRO: AFI KLM E&M has received a long-term A320 component support and repairs contract from Jetstar Pacific, which includes access to a spares pool located at its Ho Chi Minh facility. Coinciding with the deal, AFI KLM E&M subsidiary, EPCOR, signed an overhaul contract covering APS3200 APUs fitted on the Jetstar Pacific fleet. Ameco plans to add A320neo, A350 and B737MAX wheel and brake maintenance to its product portfolio in 2017. ST Aerospace Resources, the leasing subsidiary of ST Aerospace, has signed up for AerData’s Corporate Management System software to support its fleet of A320 and B737 aircraft.
Routes: Air China plans to add a thrice-weekly Shenzhen-Los Angeles B787-9 route from July 6. China Southern Airlines will launch a daily Shenzhen-Phnom Penh A320 route commencing March 26. EastarJet will increase frequency on the Incheon-Nagoya B737-800 route from daily to double daily starting July 1. Malindo Air will add a thrice-weekly Kuala Lumpur-Chittagong B737-800 and a four-weekly Kuala Lumpur-Yangon B737-800 route from March 30 and April 3, respectively. Philippine Airlines (PAL) will convert its year-round twice-weekly Manila-Saipan A320 route to a seasonal service operating from June 11 through to August 31 only. Singapore Airlines will replace the B777-300ER with the A350-900 on the five-weekly Singapore-Milan-Barcelona route from April 2. Thai Lion Air will launch a double daily Don Mueang-Khon Kaen B737-800 route on March 17. THAI Smile will launch a daily Suvarnabhumi-Cebu A320 route from May 3. Vietnam Airlines has replaced the B787-9 with the A330-200 on the daily Hanoi-Osaka route and it swapped the A330-200 with the A350-900 on the daily Hanoi-Pudong rotation.
