Beijing-based MRO specialist, Ameco, has completed cabin modifications on ten Air China A330-200s. Read More »

Ameco says it has retrofitted the A330s with flex cabins, which make it easier to increase and decrease the size of the business and economy cabins based on changing demand. The firm also upgraded the in-flight entertainment systems and in-seat power supply on the ten-year-old Air China jets. The modifications were made while the aircraft were undergoing scheduled C-checks.

Ameco has performed cabin refurbishment works for countless airlines since it added the offering to its portfolio in 2015. The MRO provider has also begun performing A321 sharklet and B767 winglet retrofits.

In Guangzhou, GAMECO, which is unrelated to Ameco, this month started work on its first A380 3C-check, a China Southern Airlines aircraft. GAMECO says the check will take approximately 60 days to complete and require up to 100,000 working hours.

During the inspection, engineers strip the A380’s interiors to the bare metal hull in order to be able to inspect and overhaul every single part before putting the aircraft back together.
