ENVIRONMENT: Virgin Australia, SkyNRG and the Brisbane Airport Corporation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to study the feasibility of establishing Australia’s first bioport, for aircraft to refuel with sustainable biofuels, at the city’s airport.

FLEET: Oman Air has ordered three A330s, which will bring its fleet of A330s to 10.

ROUTES: All Nippon Airways’ (ANA) B787 fleet will be put to work on three more international routes now the airliner has resumed flying. The Dreamliner will service Haneda to Taipei and Narita to Beijing and Shanghai, bringing international destinations for the B787 to five. China Airlines (CAL) now flies nine times a week from Taipei to Honolulu following the introduction of twice a week direct services between the Taiwanese capital and the U.S. island state. CAL operates a daily service from Taipei to Hawaii via Tokyo. China’s Lucky Air, owned by the HNA Group, has submitted an application to expand its domestic only network to Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.
