Hawaiian unveils new livery, expresses frustration over local airport conditions

Hawaiian Airlines has unveiled a new livery to be rolled out across its fleet of more than 50 aircraft by 2020. Read More » The updated look still features the dark-haired woman named Pualani on the aircraft tail, but in this iteration, Pualani is more prominent than she is in the livery Hawaiian has used since 2001.
Hawaiian debuted the livery on Monday on a B717 aircraft at Honolulu International Airport during a special employee event on Lei Day, which Hawaiian describes as “a state wide annual celebration of Hawaiian culture.” During the event, Hawaiian CEO, Mark Dunkerley, expressed the carrier’s frustration with the poor infrastructure conditions at its Honolulu base.
"Our airport facilities, to call them behind the times doesn't do justice to how awful they are," Dunkerley told Hawaii News.
