Australia’s CSIRO and Boeing have signed a five-year A$35 million contract to research advanced materials and manufacturing projects and space science. Read More » It is the largest commitment made by the global aerospace company outside the U.S.

“Boeing celebrates 90 years in Australia this year and for nearly a third of that time, we have partnered with the CSIRO on advanced technologies that have made a real difference to the aerospace industry, President Boeing Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific, Maureen Dougherty, said. “We are excited to see that relationship move forward as a result of this agreement.”

Boeing and the CSIRO have invested more than $170 million in 190 research projects, including manufacturing processes, fire retardants, biofuels and software. In April, Boeing named the CSIRO its 2016 supplier of the year.
