Bombardier’s Beaudoin reduces role amid investor angst
Canada’s Bombardier Inc. has announced, Pierre Beaudoin (54), will resign as executive chairman of the group, but will retain his chairmanship of the company. Beaudoin was forced to reduce his responsibilities at Bombardier following opposition to his re-election from some of Canada’s largest pension funds, The Wall Street Journal has reported.
Last month, unhappy investors objected to a significant increase in compensation for several Bombadier executives, including Beaudoin. The remuneration increases, which were rolled back, were revealed after the company received a reported US$1 billion in financing from Quebec and federal governments.
