BOC Aviation is set on becoming one of Airbus’ best customers this year. Read More » The Singapore-based lessor this week placed yet another top-up order with the Toulouse-headquartered manufacturer. This time BOC committed to four A320neo series aircraft and two A330neo.

All six aircraft will be delivered between 2018-2020 for long-term lease to TAP Portugal, a new customer for BOC.

“This aircraft placement demonstrates our ability to provide a comprehensively tailored solution built around new technology Airbus aircraft and including both single-aisle and twin aisle categories,” said Steven Townend, chief commercial officer (Europe, Americas, Africa), BOC Aviation.

“TAP Portugal represents yet another new European customer and we are delighted to begin our partnership with this national carrier, which will expand our globally diversified customer portfolio even further."

China’s HNA Group holds a minority stake in Star Alliance member TAP. The Portuguese flag carrier is expected to launch routes to the Mainland by 2018.

Last week, BOC Aviation took delivery of its first A320neo aircraft. The single aisle is on long-term lease to India’s Vistara.

“We are very excited to take delivery of our first A320neo, given the neo’s demonstrable record of fuel-savings and performance improvements,” said Robert Martin, MD and CEO of BOC Aviation. “This aircraft is the first of 63 A320NEOs from our order book, all scheduled for delivery between now and 2021,” he added.

All 63 A320neo on order from BOC will be powered exclusively by the CFM International LEAP engine.
