Airbus nets four orders for July

The order dry spell at Airbus continued in July. The Toulouse-based manufacturer won two contracts for four aircraft, valued at approximately US$1 billion at list prices. Read More »

The new orders were for three more A330-200s from IAG’s long-haul low-cost subsidiary, Level, which will be in the northern summer of 2018. The other order was for an A350-1000 from an undisclosed customer.

Year-to-date, Airbus has secured 205 commercial aircraft orders. Rival Boeing had signed contracts for 386 aircraft for the seven months to July 31.

More positively, Airbus is on track for meeting its 2017 delivery targets. The OEM was targeting “more than” 700 deliveries this year. As of July 31, it had delivered 353 aircraft including 36 A350s and seven A380s.
