Ides of March hold no fears for Airbus

Lion Air co-founder and CEO, Rusdi Kirana (49), signed Airbus’s biggest ever civilian aircraft deal when he confirmed an order for 234 A320 family airliners valued at US$24 billion (See A Step to Far? page 22). He established the airline with his brother, Kusnan, 12 years ago with one jet.
In the same week, Turkish Airlines announced a record order for a Turkish airliner, with confirmation it would buy 117 aircraft from the A320 family, with options for 35 A320neos. The Lion Air and Turkish Airlines announcements took the order book for the Airbus neo above 2,000 aircraft, said Airbus chief operating officer, customers, John Leahy.
