Boeing wins first quarter order race

In the first quarter of 2018, Boeing secured orders for 221 commercial aircraft against Airbus sales of 45 net orders for the same three months. Read More »

Boeing’s first quarter orders were 171 B737s, 24 B787s, 14 B747s, seven B767s and five B777s. In the Asia Pacific and the Middle East, India’s Jet Airways placed a top-up order for 75 B737 MAXs, Turkish Airlines signed for 25 B787-9s, BOC Aviation booked six B787-9s and ANA Cargo ordered two B777Fs.

Toulouse-headquartered Airbus gained 68 net orders during the first three months, but the OEM also received 23 cancellations.

Airbus’ new first quarter orders were 48 A320 Family aircraft and 20 A380s. Cancellations were for eleven A320 Family jets, six A330neo (Hawaiian Airlines) and six A380s (Virgin Atlantic Airways). In the Asia-Pacific and the Middle East, CALC ordered 15 A320neo, VietJet Air added two A321ceo and Emirates Airlines signed for another 20 A380s.
