Etihad terminates Perth service

Gulf carrier, Etihad Airways, announced this week that it would terminate its daily Abu Dhabi-Perth service as well as its five times a week flights to Edinburgh. Read More » The Perth route is served by a three-class B787-9 that will be downgraded to a two-class A330-200 service from next week. Edinburgh also is an A330 service. Etihad has culled loss-making routes to Dallas, San Francisco and Sao Paulo in the last 12 months.
Etihad’s withdrawal from Perth follows Qantas Airways’ recent Perth-London nonstop launch. Qatar Airways will upgrade Perth-Doha to an A380 from May 1 and Emirates Airline continues to operate Perth-Dubai twice daily, including an A380 rotation.
