Code shares: Virgin Australia and Virgin Atlantic have expanded their code share partnership on London-Hong Kong-Sydney from July 2, the date that Virgin Australia commences its Sydney-Hong Kong service. Read More »

Global Distribution Systems: Technology provider, Sabre, has secured a new content distribution agreement with Indonesian airline group, Lion Air, the largest privately owned carrier in Indonesia.

Routes: Air France will terminate its thrice-weekly Tehran-CDG A330-200 route from October 28. Air India will increase Delhi-Amritsar-Birmingham B787-8 service from thrice- to four-weekly from May 5; Delhi-Vienna will go from thrice- to four-weekly B787-8 service from May 7 and Delhi-Copenhagen B787-8 will also increase from thrice- to four-weekly, albeit from May 11. Asiana Airlines will replace the A380 with the A350-900 on the daily Incheon-JFK route from October 28. Cathay Dragon will launch a four-weekly Hong Kong-Davao A320 service on October 28, followed by a thrice-weekly Hong Kong-Medan A320 route from October 29. Hainan Airlines will launch a twice-weekly Shenzhen-Vienna B787-8 route on October 20, switching to the larger -9 from November 1. The airline will also add a twice-weekly Guangzhou-Tel Aviv B787-9 route, beginning August 2. Malindo Air will add a daily Kuala Lumpur-Labuan B737-800 charter route starting June 8. Mandarin Airlines will add a weekly Taichung-Changsha E190 service from June 2. Philippines AirAsia will launch a four-weekly Clark-Cebu A320 route on May 22, followed by a thrice-weekly Clark-Taipei service from July 12. Shandong Airlines will launch a twice-weekly Harbin-Hohhot-Hong Kong B737-800 route on May 15.
