Airbus sells 15 A350s in May; StarLux to order A350-1000?

Toulouse-headquartered aircraft manufacturer, Airbus, sold 15 A350-900s to an undisclosed customer in May, ending a half-year widebody order drought and lifting the total order tally for the -900 to 679 aircraft. Read More »
Separately, an A330-200 was ordered for conversion into the Multi-Role Tanker/Transport (MRTT) version by Airbus for a military customer.
Also in May, Lufthansa Group signed for nine additional A320 Family aircraft.
Airbus deliveries in May comprised 41 A320 Family aircraft (including 22 neos), seven A350-900s and three A330s.
China’s Loong Air, Philippine Airlines, Royal Brunei Airlines, Iberia and Jazeera Airways became new A320neo Family operators in May.
Airbus has delivered 223 aircraft this year to date, a decrease on the 242 jets the OEM had handed over at the same time last year.
Separately, Orient Aviation has learned that Taiwanese full-service ‘premium’ start-up, StarLux Airlines, has entered into advanced talks regarding a potential order for the A350-1000. The Taipei-based airline has already inked lease agreements for 10 A321neo aircraft, with the first aircraft due in the second half of 2019.
