Hong Kong’s Cathay Pacific Airways has rostered the A350-1000 on its Amsterdam and Zurich routes, replacing B777-300ER aircraft. Read More »

Hong Kong-Amsterdam will see the -1000 daily from December 1, while the daily Hong Kong-Zurich flight will get the XWB from March 31, GDS data shows.

The -1000s will be configured with 334 seats in three classes, comprising 46 business, 32 premium economy and 256 economy class seats.

Amsterdam is currently being served by a three-class -300ER with comparable seat counts, but Zurich has been receiving a four-class -300ER with six first class, 53 business, 34 premium economy and just 182 economy class seats, so that route will lose first class and gain significant economy class capacity.

Earlier this year, Cathay announced a new Hong Kong-Washington A350-1000 route, launching September 15. The flight will be the longest in the carrier’s network.

Cathay will take delivery of its maiden A350-1000 on June 19. The airline has 20 of the largest A350 variant on order and expects to take delivery of eight of them this year.
