Routes: British Airways will terminate its five-weekly Heathrow-Tehran B777-200ER flights from September 23. Capital Airlines will terminate its thrice-weekly Beijing-Lisbon A330 service from October 14. China Southern Airlines will launch thrice-weekly Beijing-Istanbul A330-200 flights starting December 20. HK Express will terminate its Hong Kong-Hualien A320 route from October 26. Jetstar will increase Auckland-Rarotonga A320 flights from thrice- to four-weekly beginning October 28. Jetstar Pacific will increase Da Nang-Taipei A320 service from four- to five-weekly starting October 31. StarFlyer will launch a daily Kitakyushu-Taipei A320 and a daily Nagoya-Taipei A320 route from October 28, respectively. United Airlines will increase frequency on the Hong Kong-Guam B737-700 route from four- to six-weekly beginning November 1.

Training: CAE has inked an agreement to train AIR BUSAN A320 pilots starting this fall at the CAE Korea training centre. Furthermore, CAE has signed a new deal with AirAsia to train more than 400 cadets in a competency-based Multi-Crew Pilot License programme to support the airline’s growth. HAITE Aviation Training and Malaysian Airlines Berhad (MAB) Academy this week signed a MoU to jointly develop and implement turnkey pilot training solutions to various airlines in the Asia-Pacific.
