Qatar Airways to launch Da Nang B787 flights

Qatar Airways will be the first airline to launch an intercontinental route from Da Nang when it begins four-a week B787-8 flights between its Doha hub and the Vietnamese coastal city from December 19. Read More » The oneworld member’s -8s have 22 seats in business and 232 seats in economy.

“We are delighted to announce the launch of our newest gateway to Vietnam, the beautiful city of Da Nang. This new direct route demonstrates our commitment to expanding our presence in the Far East, a highly important market for Qatar Airways,” said Qatar Airways Group CEO, Akbar Al Baker.

Da Nang will be the airline’s third destination in Vietnam. Qatar Airways began flying to Ho Chi Minh City in 2007 and launched its Hanoi service in 2010. The airline provides twice-daily flights to Vietnam’s capital and ten a week services to Ho Chi Minh City. Last October, the carrier announced an interline partnership with ultra-low-cost carrier, VietJet Air.

The Qatar Airways service will be Da Nang’s first intercontinental route and one of its maiden wide body services. Korean Air flies B777-300ERs to Incheon, Jin Air deploys B777-200ERs on the route and Asiana Airlines utilizes A330-300s.
