Juneyao accepts maiden B787 Dreamliner

Shanghai’s Juneyao Airlines has taken delivery of its maiden wide body, a B787-9. Read More » The Juneyao Group subsidiary has ten Dreamliners on order.

Juneyao’s B787 will start commercial service on October 25, initially serving the Hongqiao-Shenzhen trunk route twice a day.

Juneyao will receive three of the airplanes in 2018 and two in 2019, which will increase international capacity by 9.2% and 4.4%, respectively.

Last year, Juneyao became the first and thus far only carrier to join Star Alliance’s Connecting Partner Model (CPM). It is believed Juneyao’s first B787 intercontinental flights will feed into the Star hubs at Frankfurt, San Francisco and Vancouver.

The airline has installed 29 Thompson Aero Seating Vantage XL lie-flat seats in business class and Recaro Aircraft Seating CL3710 recliners in the economy cabin.

The airline’s fleet now comprises 41 A320s, 27 A321s and said B787-9.
