China Eastern’s first A350 takes off

The first of 20 China Eastern Airlines on-order A350-900s performed its maiden flight this week. Read More » Airbus said the aircraft, MSN248, is proceeding through ground checks and test flights before delivery “in the coming weeks”.

China Eastern, the second largest Chinese airline after China Southern Airlines, will be the fourth Mainland carrier to receive A350s. Air China operates four -900s, including on flights to Milan and Frankfurt, and both Hainan Airlines and Sichuan Airlines have one A350 in their fleets. No Mainland customer has ordered the largest A350XWB variant, the A350-1000.

China Eastern Airlines operates an Airbus fleet of 305 A320 Family aircraft and 58 A330 Family aircraft.
