Sherry Carbary named Boeing China president

Sherry Carbary is to succeed John Bruns as president Boeing China on April 8. Read More » Carbary will be based in Beijing and will report to Marc Allen, president of Boeing International. Bruns will take up the position of Boeing vice president commercial sales India and Southeast Asia. "As Boeing’s senior in-country executive, Carbary will be responsible for the company’s strategy and corporate operations in China, including development of Boeing China’s growth, productivity initiatives, new business and industrial partnerships, government and corporate affairs, managing functional and enterprise services to support Boeing’s operations in China, strengthening company relations with suppliers, customers and other stakeholders and advancing corporate citizenship projects," Boeing said this week.

Currently, Carbary is vice president and program manager for Boeing’s transformational 2nd Century Human Resources Program, responsible for leading initiatives that integrate technology, functional excellence and change management.

“We are grateful to John for leading the company through a period of sustained growth while deepening our company-to-country relationships on multiple levels,” Allen said. “His years of experience supporting the successful development of aviation in China will be of tremendous benefit in the India and Southeast Asian markets where he will lead airplane and services commercial areas.”
