Embraer announces CEO transition after approval of Boeing deal

“Paulo Cesar idealized the partnership with Boeing and lead the negotiation process of the transaction that will bring Embraer and Brazil to a much more competitive and prominent level in the global aviation industry,” Embraer Group chairman, Alexandre Silva, said this week.
As president and CEO of Embraer’s commercial jet arm, Paulo Cesar launched the company’s E2 medium size jet program in 2013. He was promoted to president and CEO of the Embraer Group in 2016 and handed the task of equipping the company to handle the structural changes necessary for it to remain competitive with rival aircraft manufacturers.
In the same week, Boeing named Marc Allen as the president of Embraer Partnership and Group Operations and senior vice president of Boeing. Allen is the current president of Boeing International. Boeing Europe president and managing director of Boeing UK and Ireland, Sir Michael Arthur, will succeed Allen as Boeing International president.
Embraer Commercial Aviation president and CEO and executive vice president of Embraer Corporation, John Slattery, will become head of the commercial aviation and services joint venture between Boeing and Embraer. All appointments will take effect on April 22.
