Last month, the country’s transportation ministry began an audit of safety practices at Sriwijaya Air after one of its planes, on a scheduled flight, landed at the wrong airport.
On a flight from Polonia Airport in Medan, North Sumatra to Minangkabau International Airport in Padang, the B737 touched down at Tabing air force base, about 20 kilometres from its intended destination.
The cockpit crew has been grounded while an investigation into the incident is completed.
