CODE-SHARES: Oneworld carriers, British Airways (BA) and Malaysia Airlines (MAS), have commenced their code-share partnership covering flights beyond Kuala Lumpur and London Heathrow to several cities in the Asia-Pacific and in the UK, Brussels, Geneva and Zurich. Star Alliance members, Turkish Airlines and EVA Air, will expand their code-share to a bilateral partnership from October 27 with Turkish coded flight numbers placed on EVA Air’s services between Taipei Taoyuan and Japan (excluding seasonal service to Asahikawa).

OEMs: The board of regional aircraft manufacturer, ATR, has authorised the launch the ATR 42-600S, the OEM’s short take-off and landing aircraft type.

MRO & COMPONENTS: Collins Aerospace has expanded the scope of its existing contract with China Aviation Supplies Co. Ltd (CASC) to jointly provide nacelle spare parts for Chinese airlines operating A320ceo, 737NG ad 757 airplanes.

ROUTES: China Eastern Airlines will resume Hefei-Hong Kong four times a week on October 28 after a three-year hiatus. Garuda Indonesia is flying nonstop Manado-Davao, at twice a week, from last month to October 25. LCC Jeju Air will open Muan to the island of Hainan at Sanya on November 19. Jetstar will fly three times a week between Melbourne and Margaret River in Western Australia from March 25, 2020. Loong Air will launch Xi’An-Nagoya with daily flights on November 7. Shenzhen Airlines is adding another route to Hokkaido, daily Wuxi-Sapporo, from next month. Spring Airlines will operate daily between Shenzhen and Phuket from October 28. Air India will begin flying Amritsar–London Stansted three times a week on October 31. Initially, Air China will operate 10 domestic destinations, with daily service, from the new Beijing Daxing airport. The cities are Chengdu, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Kunming, Nanning, Shanghai Pu Dong, Shenyang, Shenzhen and Yinchuan.
