China aviation loses US$3.522 billion in February

The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), said the country’s aviation industry recorded one of its worst months in its history in February, with losses of 24.59 billion yuan (US$3.522 billion). Read More »
Passengers declined 84.5%, to 8.34 million, and freight transportation by 21%, to 297,000 tonnes. Combined with January, accumulated losses for the civil aviation sector for the two months were 17.58 billion yuan.
The Standard in Hong Kong reported this week that China is losing about US$40 billion a month, or 4% of Chinese output from COVID-19.
