Demand collapses 81.09% at Asia-Pacific airlines

Figures from the Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA) published late last week showed carriers in the region flew 69.5 million international passengers in calendar 2020, down 81.9% from 383.5 million in the prior corresponding period. "Looking ahead, many industry challenges remain as restrictions on cross border travel will continue to affect air travel demand in 2021," AAPA director general, Subhas Menon, said in a statement.
