All Nippon Airways launches new trial of staff autonomous bus transport

All Nippon Airways (ANA) said yesterday it had commenced the latest trial of an autonomous bus to transport staff around Tokyo Haneda as it worked to implement driverless bus technology by 2025 at the downtown Tokyo airport. Read More » "In addition to marking a significant step forward for airports, fully electric autonomous buses will result in fewer emissions and decreased carbon footprints at airports," ANA senior vice president, Masaki Yokai, said. The trial, which followed similar tests in the last three years, is taking place for 12 days to February 12. Each of the driverless vehicles can transport up to 57 employees.
