Airbus announces Hamburg pilot production line for critical A321XLR components

Airbus said in a statement on Tuesday (European time) its Hamburg facility would host a dedicated pilot production line for major component assembly operations of the new rear fuselage equipped with the new rear centre tank featured on the A321XLR long-range narrow-body. Read More » Airbus head of the A321XLR program, Gary O’Donnell, said the dedicated pilot production line would help ensure the smooth integration of the new rear centre tank and its new fuel systems. "Importantly, this new approach will avoid putting at risk the rest of single-aisle production," O'Donnell said.
