Japan Airlines domestic passengers fall 51% in January

Japan Airlines (JAL) and its affiliate carriers flew 684,709 domestic passengers in January, down 51% from 1.41 million in December 2020 and 77% below the 2.8 million travellers it transported a year earlier. Read More » The domestic passenger load factor was 31.1% for the month compared with 45.5% in December, JAL's monthly traffic report showed. The airline company carried 43,866 international passengers in January. The numbers represented a 23% month-on-month decline from 57,030 in December and a fraction of the 747,121 passengers flown by the airline in January 2020. The international load factor was 18.4%, the lowest since the 17.9% achieved in October 2020.
