South Korea orders emergency inspections of P&W4000s on 777s flown by three local airlines

South Korea's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT) has issued an emergency inspection order for operators of the 777 equipped with certain Pratt & Whitney PW4000 series engines. Read More » The MOLIT statement said the order requiring fan blade inspections to be conducted by Pratt & Whitney targeted 29 aircraft – 16 at Korean Air, nine at Asiana Airlines and four at Jin Air. The MOLIT said all foreign carriers were prohibited from operating 777 aircraft powered with those PW4000 series engines in South Korean airspace.
