Hong Kong’s Choi takes a gamble on AirAsia Group

Hong Kong businessman and AirAsia Group shareholder, Stanley Choi, told the South China Morning Post he expected the LCC group would be among the first airline companies to recover from COVID-19. Read More » Choi increased his equity in the Malaysia-headquartered company to 8.96% in February, after his private investment vehicle purchased 167.1 million shares in the LCC group. “When the placement chance came up, I seized this opportunity,” Choi told the newspaper. “When we look at peers in the same industry, I see there’s a good opportunity. I see AirAsia will be the first group of companies that will bounce back."
