BOC Aviation reports profit for 2020 despite big hit from COVID-19

Lessor BOC Aviation yesterday reported net profit fell 27.4%, to US$510 million, for the 12 months to December 31, 2020, from US$702 million in the same months a year earlier. Read More » Revenue increased 3.9%, to US$2.1 billion, BOC Aviation said in a regulatory filing to the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong. The Mainland-controlled lessor said aircraft owned, managed and on order for the company at December 31 was 553, up from 523 a year earlier. "BOC Aviation’s core business continued to perform well in the worst year in aviation history," BOC Aviation CEO, Robert Martin, said in the financial results. "During 2020 we demonstrated both the resilience of our company in the face of a global pandemic and our preparedness for the growth that will follow."
