Two SIA Group MAXs return to fleet from storage in Australia

Singapore Airlines (SIA) flew a 737 MAX 8 test flight on March 11 after a communications antenna had been installed on the aircraft, FlightGlobal has reported. Read More » The airline group said it was working with regulators on the return of the type to service and antenna installation was part of its MAX fleet cabin retrofit program. It will progressively bring back its MAXs to Singapore, with two already returned to the Group, it said. Four of the type remains in storage in Australia’s Alice Springs. The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) has yet to give the MAX the all-clear to resume commercial service two years after the type’s grounding in response to two fatal crashes.
