Singapore Airlines passengers complete inaugural Singapore-London digital Travel Pass flight

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) said overnight its Travel Pass app had been successfully used on a Singapore Airlines flight from its home base to London Heathrow. Read More » Passengers used the app to create a secure digital version of their passports on their mobile devices, learn of travel restrictions and requirements for their flight, receive verified test results and confirmation they met all travel requirements.

Earlier today, Korean Air said it would test the IATA Travel Pass on Seoul Incheon-Los Angeles KEO11 in May after an initial trial next month. Using the CommonPass app, Cathay Pacific Group said it conducted a successful trial of the digital health platform on CX880 Hong Kong-Los Angeles on March 15.

Separately, IATA has postponed its annual general meeting from June to later in the year. Hosted by JetBlue, it will be held in Boston from October 3-October 5. “We believe it is vital to do all we can to meet as an industry face to face," IATA director general and CEO, Alexandre de Juniac, said. "Doing so will affirm airlines can safely connect the world, demonstrate the industry’s resilience and confirm the inestimable value of in-person meetings facilitated by aviation."
