Recovery of single-aisle flights to pre-pandemic levels two years away says Airbus

Airbus CEO, Guillaume Faury, said in a Eurocontrol interview overnight it would take another two years before single-aisle flights returned to pre-COVID-19 levels, but added it was difficult to forecast the extent of recovery in air travel. Read More » “On the single-aisle business, on narrow-body planes, it is probably going to be around 2023, and for wide-body planes 2024, 2025. We don’t really know,” Faury said. “There is more uncertainty about how fast and strongly international traffic will recover.”

Faury noted China’s regional traffic had returned to "slightly more than 100% of 2019 [levels] already". "In Asia, in particular China, things are looking quite OK for regional traffic. But obviously international traffic is still very low," he said.
