All Nippon Airways improves domestic schedule by 9% as Summer Olympics approach

All Nippon Airways (ANA) said its domestic schedule would operate at 71% of pre-COVID-19 levels next month. It has cancelled 5,550 flights from May 6-May 31. Read More » The May schedule is an improvement from an operation rate of 62% this month.
In other ANA news, the Star Alliance member will open a "Flying Honu restaurant" at Tokyo Narita Airport on board two A380s. Three dining sessions, May 22, 29 and 30, are being marketed. Ticket prices start at 8,500 yen (US$78) for economy, 12,500 yen in premium economy, 29,800 in business and 59,800 for first class. The new initiative followed the enthusiastic take up of a dining experience aboard a 777-300ER at Tokyo Haneda Airport during this month. Patrons dine on first and business class meals normally served on long-haul international routes.
