EVA Air reports near 35% increase in passengers carried

EVA Air's monthly traffic report showed the Taiwanese carrier flew 23,029 passengers in March, a 34.7% increase from 17,092 passengers a month earlier. Read More » Despite the improvement, the March figures were down 90.4% from 239,376 passengers transported in March last year. EVA Air said passenger revenue declined 83.6% year-on-year, to TW$431.3 million (US$15.1 million), for the reported month. The Star Alliance carrier’s March load factor was 21.3% compared with 14.6% in February and 47.1% in March 2020.

Better news was that the airline’s cargo freight tonne kilometres rose 57.2% in March, compared with the same month last year. Cargo revenue more than doubled, to TW$5.8 billion, from TW$2.7 billion 12 months ago.
