Almost 40% of THAI staff fail competency screening review

At least 4,000 Thai Airways International (THAI) staff face losing their jobs after they failed the first round of screening at the company, the Bangkok Post reported on the weekend. Read More » The effected employees, among 13,554 staff who applied to continue working at the company, either could accept an early retirement scheme or request a second round of job screening. THAI is progressing through a business rehabilitation plan under the supervision of Thailand’s Central Bankruptcy Court. Its parlous financial state has been evident for several years but the negative impact of the pandemic forced it to seek the protection of the bankruptcy court.
